Thanks for this book recommendation/review, G. Since I'm just now beginning to work the 12 steps with a sponsor, after being in Al-Anon for over 8 years, I'm anxious to get this book. I haven't really wanted to work the AA 12 steps before this, because I've had a lot of difficulty with the 'god-thing', and integral part of the 12 steps. My recovering heroin addict daughter has been clean and sober now for 6 months - - - and she relies heavily on the 12 step program to maintain her sobriety. She's only on step # 4 - I hope her sponsor doesn't get impatient with her. I figured that if she can study/work/live the steps, then maybe I can too. I'm willing to give it a try.

This kind of reminds me of Barb Rogers books. She wrote Twenty Five Words on the Serenity Prayer and it's been a great help for me when I say the prayer myself. It helped me to get a better understanding it.

How cool! I've always been intrigued by the Quaker faith. Nixon notwithstanding, I've admired the Quakers I've met or read about and it seems to be a very progressive and peaceful path.

I really love the title of this book. The photograph on the cover is reminiscent of serenity. I am looking forward to purchasing this book, cozying up with a fluffly pillow to read it.

I would love to see your review of Little Gifts of Sustainable Contentment by C.J. Good.
I saw a review on amazon that referred to it resonating with the 12 steps. I just found it breathtakingly beautiful. Gave me a sense of peace and relief.
